My name is Robert Bynum.
I have a degree in evolutionary biology from the University of West Florida. After this I worked at a bike shop until I moved to Orlando, FL where I attended Airline Training Academy. I achieved my Commercial Pilots License, worked some more, until I moved to New Jersey where I worked before joining the U.S. Air Force Reserves. In the Air Force I became a C-17 Electrical/Environmental Mechanic. After deliberating over career goals I went back to school. I am now in the last stages of earning a degree in Industrial Design at Montclair State University.
I have always been fascinated with invention, technology, and futuristic concepts. I love to explore new ideas, both fantastical and realistic. I recognize that most invention is an elaboration or extrapolation of existing ideas but one always needs to be open to inspiration to a brand new idea or concept. To think this way requires a grounding in science and physics but with a strong mix of creativity and inspiration. Creativity and inspiration are the two aspects of design I love and try to cultivate in myself every day.
